| ANAKIN:MECHANIC; Craig's Birthday at Palmer's |
Anakin:Mechanic was a four-piece hyper-aggressive,
yet melodic, post-hardcore punk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Originally conceived in Buffalo,
New York, (2000) under the name The Britney Spears, A:Mech has gone through a few false starts and a series of lineup
changes. The band existed in Minneapolis, though strangely enough, none of it's members were native to the state of Minnesota.
A:Mech consisted of Jon and Joshua DeVore, both from New York, Craig Kennedy from Iowa, and Justin Wainner from
Texas.
Although having been heavily influenced by New York Hardcore (bands like Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand) and the early D.C. bands (like Fugazi and Dagnasty), Anakin:Mechanic opted more towards a melodic, heavy rock and roll sound, like that of Florida's Hotwater Music and Virginia's Avail.

SPIRIT OF '76: Anakin:Mechanic's final show took place on September 15th, 2003. Headlined by punk pioneers, The Vibrators, at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, A:Mech ended their brief career on one very high note. Thanks to Knox
and the boys, Paddy from D-4, and all of our friends, it was a night we will never, EVER forget!
Josh and Craig have been tearing it up in Minneapolis as a four-piece called ALL IN.
Justin has recently relocated back to the Twin Cities and will be back on bass duties as he and Jon are currently writing
the debut album for their new band ROCKER CRUSHER. Keep yer eyes peeled cause their new websites will be up and linked to
this page very soon.
Thanks for the interest, until then- keep in touch!

I will be randomly updating this site with past
photos, flyers, MP3s and hopefully, eventually, video clips and other stuff to try and keep a clearer, more accurate
record of the shows and music that A:Mech has played.... So check up with us once in a while, okay? -Jon
